2.2 Key Data Processors

We use third-party service providers to help us operate the Service. They act as our “Data Processors”:

Cloudflare, Inc.: Hosts our entire website. They process data for security, performance, and basic delivery.
PostHog, Inc.: Provides optional product analytics to help us understand how our templates are used.

3. Information We Collect and How We Use It

We collect information in three ways: information you choose to provide, information collected automatically by our infrastructure, and optional analytics data.

3.1 Information You Choose to Provide

For the “QR Safe” Service: We do not collect any personal information. The service is designed to be zero-knowledge. We do not ask for your email, name, or any other identifier to create a QR code.
For Support/Legal: If you contact us via email, we collect the information you provide to respond to your request.

3.2 Information Collected Automatically (Infrastructure Logs)

When you visit our website, our hosting provider, Cloudflare, automatically processes certain technical data essential for security and reliability:

IP Address: Processed to identify security threats (like DDoS attacks) and for regional content delivery (CDN).
Usage Data & Logs: Browser type, device type, operating system, and pages visited, used for security and network performance monitoring.

3.3 Analytics Data (Optional)

If you explicitly consent by clicking “Accept All” on our privacy banner, we use PostHog to collect anonymous usage data.

What we track: Which templates you generate (e.g., “Emergency”, “vCard”), which language you selected, and general pageviews.
What we DO NOT track: The actual content of your QR codes (names, phone numbers, medical info). We have configured PostHog to avoid capturing input text.
Purpose: To understand which features are popular and guide future development.
Legal Basis: Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw this consent at any time via the “Privacy Settings” link in our footer.

We do not sell your personal information. We only share it in the following limited circumstances:

With our Data Processors: We share data with Cloudflare and (if consented) PostHog solely for the purposes described above.
To Comply with the Law: We may disclose your information (specifically server logs) if we receive a valid legal order from a competent judicial or administrative authority.

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), you have certain rights, including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data.

6. Data Retention

QR Content: We do not store it at all. It lives entirely in the URL you generate.
Infrastructure Logs (Cloudflare): Retained for a limited period necessary for security and legal compliance (typically up to 1 year).
Analytics Data (PostHog): If collected, this data is retained for up to 1 year before being automatically deleted.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Effective Date” at the top.
