Design carousels that actually convert.

Carousel posts outperform single-image posts on Instagram and LinkedIn because they reward curiosity with depth. Slide 1 sells the swipe. Slides 2 through 6 carry the payload. The recap and CTA drive saves and follows. This editor gives you the primitives pros use: layered type, bold backgrounds, brand persistence, and platform-aware safe zones, with every piece free and running on your machine.

Why carousels convert

Instagram and LinkedIn both reward engagement depth. A 7-slide carousel earns dwell time, saves, and follows that single posts cannot match. The key levers are a strong first-slide hook, a consistent visual system across all slides (brand kit + theme), and a single close CTA.

Zero-knowledge by design

Nothing you type or upload ever leaves your device. The editor runs as client-side JavaScript, HTML5 Canvas, and on-device AI via WebGPU. Drafts autosave to local storage; images persist in OPFS. Export a JSON project to move machines and we still never see it.

How to build a carousel that converts

  1. Start from a full pack. Open the Add Slide dialog and switch to "Full pack" to scaffold a 7-slide framework, list, tutorial, or story carousel in one click.
  2. Set up your Brand Kit. Upload your logo, set your handle, primary and accent colors. Every brand element reads from the kit, so updating the kit updates the entire carousel.
  3. Pick a theme. The Design tab offers 12 themes grouped Editorial / Bold / Minimal / Warm / Tech. Role-bound elements reflow instantly on theme swap.
  4. Add a slide counter to every slide. One click in the Counter menu adds a pill or progress bar to every slide. Readers stay oriented and swipe further.
  5. Write slide 1 like a thumbnail. Use the Display or Headline type preset. Aim for 5 to 9 words. Slide 1 decides whether the swipe happens.
  6. Close with one CTA. Use the CTA: Save + Follow template as the last slide. One action per slide converts better than a wall of options.
  7. Export for the platform. Instagram: all slides as separate PNGs. LinkedIn: the PDF document export at 1200×1500.

Frequently asked questions

Is this carousel editor really free?

Yes. The entire editor runs in your browser with zero sign-up. We never upload your images, text, or drafts to any server. AI features like background removal use on-device models so the same privacy promise holds.

What formats can I design for?

Instagram Portrait (1080×1350), Instagram Square (1080×1080), Instagram Story (1080×1920), and LinkedIn Document (1200×1500). Switch formats from the toolbar; elements scale proportionally.

What makes a carousel convert on Instagram and LinkedIn?

Slide 1 is the thumbnail that decides the swipe. Use a high-contrast hook in a display font. Keep 7 to 10 slides for Instagram and 8 to 12 for LinkedIn. Add a persistent slide counter so readers know where they are. Close with one clear CTA like 'Save' or 'Follow for more'.

Can I save my work and come back to it?

Yes. Your carousel autosaves to your browser's local storage. Images live in OPFS (Origin Private File System) and survive reloads. You can also download the entire project as a JSON file and re-import it later or on another machine.

What is a Brand Kit?

A saved bundle of logo, handle, URL, primary + accent colors, and font pair. Add a brand logo or handle element to any slide and it reads from your kit. Update the kit once and every slide updates at the same time.

What are themes and how do they work with my designs?

A theme is a palette mapped to 8 semantic roles (heading, body, eyebrow, accent, accent alt, surface, surface alt, decorative) plus a font pair. Elements can be bound to roles; switching themes reflows every role-bound element in one click. Click 'Rebind legacy colors' to snap your existing literal colors to the active palette via OKLCH nearest-neighbor inference.

What is a connected panoramic background?

When enabled, the gradient, pattern, and large Bauhaus or stripe shapes flow across all slides as one continuous canvas, so swiping feels like panning through a single picture. Disable it if you want each slide to stand on its own.

Can I export to LinkedIn as a PDF document?

Yes. Choose LinkedIn Document from the format switcher, then Export → LinkedIn document (PDF). Each slide becomes one PDF page at 1200×1500 for LinkedIn's document post requirements.

Does the AI background removal work offline?

After the first run, yes. The model downloads once (about 40 MB) and then runs 100% on your device via WebGPU (or WASM as a fallback). No image ever leaves your browser.

Do you support keyboard shortcuts?

Yes. Undo/Redo (Cmd+Z / Cmd+Shift+Z), duplicate (Cmd+D), copy/paste (Cmd+C / Cmd+V), delete (Backspace), align via arrow keys (Shift+arrow nudges 10px), z-order (Cmd+] / Cmd+[), focus mode (F), quick add text (T) and shape (S).
